Car gear guides by Tom Bridger: what to buy for your car, what to skip, and why.

Hey There, I’m Tom
Hey there, I’m Tom! I’m just a regular guy with a rather unusual passion for cars and everything that goes with them. Let me share a bit about my story. You know, this whole thing started quite innocently when I was just a kid. My dad, bless his heart, was always tinkering in the garage and he roped me in at an early age. I found myself surrounded by the smell of motor oil, the clinking of wrenches, and stacks of auto magazines. I was hooked right away.
As time passed, I got pretty good at working on cars and I quickly realized that the right accessories and upgrades made all the difference. It’s funny, most people don’t give a second thought to what they put in or on their vehicle, but for me, it was a revelation. From floor mats and seat covers to dash cams and roof racks, the right gear could completely transform the driving experience.
And it wasn’t just the interior accessories either. I found myself exploring all kinds of upgrades. Lighting kits, tonneau covers, performance air filters, custom grilles, towing gear, cargo organizers. You name it, I’ve probably tested it. And not just any old parts, mind you. I mean, I’ve had the pleasure of trying products from some of the most renowned brands from all over the world. It’s been quite the journey, learning the ins and outs of what actually holds up and what’s just flashy packaging.
But don’t get me wrong, I’m not just about bolt-on accessories. I’ve got a soft spot for the everyday essentials too. I’ve spent more hours than I can count comparing tire pressure gauges, emergency kits, car vacuums, phone mounts, and detailing supplies. The little things that most drivers overlook are often the ones that matter most on a long road trip or a daily commute.
So, why am I telling you all this? Well, I’ve got so much knowledge on this topic that I thought it would be a good idea to share it. That’s why I decided to create this website. My goal is to help people like you who are looking for the perfect accessories for their ride. I want to share my experiences and knowledge to guide you in your decision.
Whether you’re a first-time car owner trying to figure out the basics, a weekend road-tripper looking to kit out your SUV, or a seasoned gearhead wanting to fine-tune every last detail, I hope to be your go-to guide. I’m here to share all the details I’ve picked up over the years. I want to help you understand what makes a quality product and how to pick the one that’s just right for your vehicle and your budget.
So, here you are, at my little corner of the internet. Whether you’re a fellow automotive enthusiast or just starting to explore what’s out there for your car, I’m thrilled to have you here. Welcome, and I hope you’ll find my insights and advice helpful. Happy upgrading!
How I Choose Products
- Maker specs and manuals first. Engine ratings, sizes, warranty terms and model changes from the manufacturer.
- Fitment. Battery group sizes, engine sizes, tire sizes and vehicle fit, so the pick works on your car.
- Owner complaints. The problems owners report again and again across stores, Reddit and forums, summarized in my own words.
- Availability. Every pick is checked as available before a guide is published or updated, and the date at the top says when.
No star ratings and no copied reviews. The full method is on how I choose products.
